Upgrading or installing

I upgraded from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 and didn’t do a clean install. I believe I should have done this. Time and time again I see that doing an upgrade isn’t the best way to go from one version to another. There are settings in the old version that should not be in the new version.

Also: When you upgrade in Windows you do clean upgrades. You don’t go from 98/2000 to XP and at the same time keeping your settings. Same goes when you go from XP to Vi… eh, wait, you don’t do that at all. But you’ll probably do a clean upgrade when you go from XP to Windows 7.

So I will be doing a clean install of 9.04 Ubuntu, and I’ll be doing clean installs / upgrades every time a new version comes out. It’s the only way.
