bug reporting

When using a computer you must expect some bugs. That even if you are running Windows. I see pros and cons when it comes to bug-fixing in Linux.

Cons:
Sometimes those who reads them bug-reports wants you to write them in a very typical fashion. I can kinda understand this, but sometimes people use more time focusing on the correct way of asking / reporting rather than on the main problem.
Sometimes it can take some time before there really is some action related to the bug you have reported.

Pros:
You can check if the bug is related to another bug that is reported, and so you can give more information to the bug fixers.
You see that there are actuall work being done on your bug. You don’t see that under Windows / Mac.

So to sum it up: I like the bug reporting and the transparancy that happens in the Linux community.

To bug-fixers: Keep up the good work. But focus on the bugs, please.
