The long version:
I (finally) came to the world on January 5th, 1971. Must have been an easy birth as my mom tends to forget my birthday. When I reached ten years old I got into computers when my father bought an Oric-1 computer. I started learning how to write programs in the Basic language, and I got a fascination for letting the computer play music. I wasn’t that much interested in playing games. The Oric-1 got replaced by an Oric Atmos before I went out and bought myself a Commodore 64. That’s when I really started programming.
I went from Basic to Assembler/Disassembler, cracked games and was part of a cracking “group” called Jazzcat (I was Outfit – which was a name I found under Mafia in a encyclopedia). One of the things I remember from those days were that I managed to write some code that made sprites move on the screen while I could write something (using the interrupts) and that I pixel draw the Jazzcat cat that I found on a cover on a single by The Rolling Stones.
So a few years passed and I got a tad bit distracted by other interests (girls, BMX Freestyle riding) and so my programming was on hold.
Then in 1995-1996 my brother came to me and showed my the internet (which I had not heard of) and two technologies that uses the TCP/IP: IRC and the web browser. And so I got back into using computers by programming scripts under the IRC-client mIRC and websites with HTML (HTML is not programming, HTML is all about Marking up your text). Back in those days (1998-1999 – or when CSS was in it’s 1.0 period) I managed to create a newspaper layout (three columns) without using tables – just CSS.
In this period I also started writing programs in Visual Basic (1.0 to 4.0) and later on I moved to Visual Pascal (Delphi). On the web I started using (classic) ASP and put up a CMS for a website that I had back in those days. I got sick and tired of the way MS did things in ASP, and so when someone told me about PHP I tried that and haven’t really looked back since.
I have been working as a web developer (IT developer is my title on my business card) for a News Agency in Norway. My job there was to trim their web applications (Classic ASP and ASP.Net) and sometimes write applications (VB.Net) that either gather information or distribute information.
I am currently trying to set up my own Web developer company here in Norway. My applications (CMS, Webshop and Intranett) are therefor going through a serious trim in order to make them easy to install and maintain. I have currently two-three customers using the Webshop, one using the CMS and one using my Intranett solution.
If you are looking for someone who could create your web application, please do not hesitate to send an e-mail.
